8X24 EXPANDER CARD IN MICS CABINET

I have come across a client that needs our help. They seem to have a MICS R1T1 sw. The expander card is an old copper 2 port running 2 expander modules copper. Never seen thios before a MICS running copper mods. They need to add more sets and right now with an 0x16 and 0x12 the 2 port expander is full.

There was back in the day a 6 port copper expander- NT5B27GA.. Can I swap out the 2 port copper expander for the 6 port expander in the mix and just add on a ox16 copper module and add 16 extensions ?????

Yes they are out there, it was for the customer that has Copper Modules that they wanted to use instead of having to invest in the fiber ones. They also made a 6 port copper expansion but I don;t have the part number right now. Maybe Curlycord will chime in here with it.

so the NT5B27Ga is that not the 6 port expander you use for the mics to use copper, or do you need some special card

The NT5B27Ga is for use in the 8X24 not the MICS, there is a 6 Port that was made for the MICS. Your looking for a NTBB07GA, Google it there are plenty out there.

PERRYPJ is right. (Thanks for pointing that out, I don't know how I missed that.)

NT5B27GA is for 8x24.
NTBB07GA is for MICS.

The upgrade is as simple as you described, though. All you have to do is replace the existing 2-port copper expansion cartridge (NTBB03GA) with the 6-port copper expansion cartridge (NTBB07GA).
