Good Afternoon people....Have a case here that will make you dust off the ole spider webs in your minds and put them to some use..lol.
On a 8x24,DR5 Centrex Plus software, we had a recept. phone forwarded to another internal extension and we could not cancel the forward. This was not the regular call forward feature and each individual centrex line was not forwarded. The phone was forwarded with a little centrex icon directly in front of the word "forward" on the 7324 display. Further, incoming external calls calls came into the recept. phone but you could not call the recept. phone internally. Nobody I talked to knew/knows how to take this forward off. Nortel does not support anything 8x24 anymore.
My solution was to change the port for the recept. phone, with set relocation off, and then reprogram that default extension to be the recept. extension. This worked but I call it a work-around solution. You can now call the recept. internally.
My question is this....does anybody know this particular s/w well enuff to know how to take that call forwarding off without changing the port?. I've asked several people in my office and noone knows anything about this. Does anybody know this? Any help would be appreciated for when this happens again. Have a nice day!

Hey silver987, thanx, nice try but no good. Already tried that, tried hitting the call forward button, tried hitting the softkey under the word cancel in the display....all to no avail. any other suggestions?

Do you suppose the s/w has a glich, I have seen some strange stuff in the old systems. Perhaps a reboot might clear the cross links? It is always a chance to power down the 8x24, as you don't know if it will come back. If you decide to pd I would try to back-up first.

Just a stab in the dark....but what if you accessed that particular centrex extension and pressed *71...?
The centrex cancel forward feature.

thanx byrontel, that might work. Nobody I talked to knew about *71, so i'll put that in my notes and save it. Don't deal with centrex s/w very often, not many companies are using that anymore. thanx for all the help, guys.

byrontel may be on the right track-
*71 is flash...it might work. But it may also require you to put in some other code that tells the CO to stop forwarding (i.e. *114, *72, etc.)

Maybe you should call the provider and ask them what the codes for call fwd are.

Actually "feature 71" is flash....I'm saying *71 right on the centrex line.

copy that- my mistake. Had ATA's on the brain.

I was pointing out that the codes can be different depending on what part of the country / CO you are in. Hence, the recommendation to call the provider to see what their codes are.
