Hello, i have a customer that has a 877 telephone number and they want to route inbound calls to certain area's depending on the area they originate in.

Who offers this service??

thanks

ron k.

The major Toll Free number providers, like AT&T, MCI & Sprint still offer that service. That type of service is provisioned on DS1 service since it requires sending DNIS digits to the PBX. You would have the provider set up a table of Area Codes where you want to receive traffic, and assign DNIS (Dialed Number Identification Service) digits to each group of NPAs or individual NPA that are sent to the PBX like DID digits are sent. The PBX would be programmed to assign the digits to calling groups or ques, depending on how you want the calls distributed. They may have other related features that may be useful to your situation. In most cases the service can be provisioned as DS1-CAS or Primary ISDN.

Hope this helps!

You don't indicate if they have a PBX or what do you mean by areas i.e. same building or different states or interconnected.
