Hi there,

I've just updated my 837 ADSL router to IOS 12.3(11)T3, which is supposed to enable a second Ethernet port (using the physical FastEthernet 4 port) for DMZ use.

I've successfully flashed the device, and followed the instructions:

Router(config)#interface fastethernet4

Router(config-if)#no shutdown

Router(config)#interface ethernet 2

Router(config-if)#no shutdown

Switch port 4 now connected to ethernet 2 interface.

But whenever I enter the "interface ethernet 2" line I get "invalid input detected" for the number 2.

Has anyone else had similar problems?

Cheers,

Do a show run and verify what the inteface is detected as and make sure you are typing it in correctly.

Hi anddaley,

thanks for the reply. I think he problem is that the version of IOS I was told I needed 12.3(11)T3 was wrong. I've had a look at the feature navigator and there is no mention of DMZ facilities in that version. 12.3(7)XR3 definately does support DMZ though (according to navigator) so I'm going to give that a try.

Cheers,

Q.
