wanted to add a new agp card to a IBM 8315-42U Machine but seems they have disabled the agp slot at the factory? Is there any way to fix this so it can use an agp card or if not a way that a PCI card can work instead? The CMOS gives 2 options Intergrated or PCI.

Anyone please

Thanks

From what I could find on this unit, it is a discontinued model that never had AGP capabilities. You would need a standard PCI video card. What slot are you looking at that you feel is a "disabled" AGP slot?

Slot I thought was the AGP slot was the AGP slot. I found on the IBM web page for that board in that machine it has a AGP slot but was disabled at the chip level at the factory and then the inserted a plastic plu into the slot. You can remove the plug and the AGP card will fit but won't boot.

I went out and got a PCI ati card and that fix's the problem "which was video lag while gaming" but thanks for the reply.

Cheers
