Hi,

We are trying to find the best solution for connecting 2 81Cs. We found the ITG card of Nortel to connect the 81C's via IP. For each 81C, do we need to have 3 ITG cards for the active leader, follower and D-CHIP?

Thanks.

Hello jemmatriano,
for an ip connection, you don not need to have more than one card in your system, the ammount of cards is depending on your traffic betwean the systems. On one ITG 2 Card you have 20 channels available (Leader Card) if you need more than 20 Channels, you have to plug in another card (Bachup leader) if you need more than 40 Channels, you nead a third Card called follower, more than 60 channels you need to have another follower Card

Hi fritzthecat,

Thank you very much for your response.

I'll just get one ITG 2 card for each site and configure it as an active leader. Then connect them to the WAN.

Thanks to Tep-Tips.

There are many requirements to using ITG. Software release
on your switch... A requirement to use OTM for the setup
of the cards. Routing requirments on each of the switches.

Ask them if there are any known problems with using this
product as an OPT 81c tie.

Also, Why not investigate just using a t-1 between switches.
