Can you reload the database from a disc onto the 81C without doing a full shut down and restart?

yes you will need to do a ini toward the end, it's called a parallel reload in book 3 of 5 of system upgrade procedure. it takes about 30 minutes

You will have to split the cores and reload the database in the offline core. make sure you have the Install Disk and keycode disk when you try to reload the database. after the reload you will have to switch processing to the offline core and that will INI the switch. Call processing will stop for the length of the INI. John is right about the INI at the end. When the original offline core takes control the original online core then can be reloaded as it is no longer active. after the reload, rejoin the cores and everything should be ok.
