The switchboard keeps receiving calls that show up as
4002-14-0 (Just a Beeping over & over). I want to think this is the in bound Trunk/Channel & digits dialed (???) but I'm guessing...
Is there a way I can x-ref this number back to a local loop
so I can at least try to find a way to trace this back to somewhere?.........Thanks........Chuck

Is this beeping a fax tone or other sound? If it is a fax tone, have the Switchboard Op transfer it to a local fax machine and see what you get.

Ya, for sure that is a fax calling you.

The solution is: When you hear beeping like that, transfer that call to the nearest fax machine. Then the fax will complete, you'll see who it's from, and even be able to contact them to correct their number if it keeps happening.

So this has been going on all day...I tell her to transfer the call to my fax & put ENTC/LD80 on it. Sure enough...the calls stop! Go figure......Thanks!

Based on the console display, you would not be able to identify the caller, even with a trace:

4002-14 0

4002 = Route Access Code 4002 (probably trunk route 2)
14 = Trunk Member 14
0 = Intercept to Console or dialed console direct.

There isn't any Caller ID on that call.

Thanks all. I was finally to trace it by having the SWBD dump the call off to a number that I had a trace running. The RAC did match the Trunk Route.
