I have an IPO 500 that manages to dial 911 when someone begins to dial 811... 8 is their external access code. I know this is happening as there is a delta server online and I am viewing the archived logs. It has happened twice to different extensions. I must be missing something in these short codes... (version 4.1(12) thanks in advance.

Dial 8 to get out...

Code: 8N
Feature: Dial
Telephone Number: N
Line Group ID 50:Main
Locale:
Force Account Code: unchecked
Force Auth Code: unchecked

Dial 911 for emergency...

Code: 911
Feature: Dial Emergency
Telephone Number: 911
Line Group ID 0
Locale:
Force Account Code: unchecked
Force Auth Code: unchecked

What shortcodes are in the ARS Main form?

I'll bet there is a 11 dial 911 in there.

You get a star - bingo. Is that an automatic entry? I deleted both of them (they were in two different ARS tables. Should that effect anything if someone dials simply 911?

Not as long as your Dial Emergency shortcode is working ok, I believe they are automatic entries in US systems.

On new systems, the 911 Dial Emergency shortcode only exists in the ARS form.. so if you deleted them from the ARS, you want to make sure to add them back in as a system shortcode.

S/C: 911
Feat: Dial Emergency
Num: 911
Line Group ID: 0 (or whatever your trunks are set for)
