802.1x Radius backup with cisco 2950/2960

Not sure why the thread was closed as you are correct it wasn't answered.

I have this working with some 3560's which I know are newer and run later IOS, however I had issues with failover on these (and on some Autonomous WiFi Access Points and 802.1x authentication). I tweaked the timeout & retransmit times to get the failover happen quicker and this works for me.

radius-server timeout 1
radius-server retransmit 2
The defaults are 5-second timeout and 3 retransmissions which equates to 15-seconds before it will try the second Radius server. I dropped this to 1-second timeout and 2 retransmissions (2-seconds before failover).

Finally to ensure RADIUS failover with catalyst 2950.
I put :
- radius-server deadtime 1
- radius-server retransmit 1

This configuration was also used for 2960 and works correctly for my tests.
