Hi there,
I am somewhat a novice to Cisco Routers and alike....

Just got me an 801, it had a stupid password, so i tried to clear it as per the help pages at cisco.com, boot command wouldnt work ( kept throwing an IO error and failing )

This is where i got a little command happy and did an erase, uh-oh ..

Now i get:
TinyROM version 1.2(2)
16:22 08/02/99
Copyright (c) 1998-1999 by cisco Systems, Inc.
All rights reserved.

POST ......... OK. 4MB DRAM, 8MB Flash.

tftp: failed (1 second), "io error"
auto-boot: failed, "io error"

boot#

I suppose i got rid of the password ;-)

Ok, i broke it, i am a fool... Anybody got any helpful ideas on what i can do ? I would just like to see it boot something up, and work :(

Please gimme some answers,
Thanks
Anduin

ok, got a slight change ... starts up like this now:

TinyROM version 1.2(2)
16:22 08/02/99
Copyright (c) 1998-1999 by cisco Systems, Inc.
All rights reserved.

POST ......... OK. 4MB DRAM, 8MB Flash.

auto-boot: failed, "no such file"

boot#

Tried using ConfigMaker 2.5, but it says:
Device information is corrupted. blah blah blah.

Any ideas ?

OK i think i have found the file that i need .////

c800-y6-mw

The joy of Cisco's website, Youfind, you register, you find again, but no... Where'd the download links gone ?

Please somebody help me, i am going nuts here.

hi

If you have the IOS image saved somewhere, you could use xmodem utility. Here is the procedure. At the boot prompt (If you are in hypertermnal) type upload. go to transfer menu in the hyperterminal---->receive file--->select receiving protocol as xmodem and select the image. At the end of tranfer type save file.

Any suggestions?

I did join, but i guess my puny little web login doesn't qualify me for downloads.

OK thanks people,

ios downloaded from Cisco,
12.0 uploaded now by Xmodem,
Lost password recovered,
