Are upgrades still possible for 8.1 to a 9.0 or 9.1?

The only reason for this upgrade is that the Embedded voice mail to email and Events Alarm emails won't work on 8.1 but does on 9.0 and 9.1.

Thanks

Upgrade licenses to R9.0 and R9.1 are no longer available so your only chance is migrating to R11.x with PLDS upgrading licenses

Thanks.

Why did Avaya stop proving upgrades to the lower versions.

So they could move from the old ADI licensing system to the new PLDS which is common across other platforms.

It seems piracy could have been an issue!

There are lot of new features in R11 but some things are no longer supported.

Why did Avaya stop proving upgrades to the lower versions?" The licensing tool ADI was being abused and during the lawsuit instead of increasing security they just decommissioned it. Per IPOSS, systems need to be current so I guess that was also their point to not keep ADI available to at least staff.

Just a thought... since I don't know how much licensing you have on the system. You may be money ahead to buy a new chassis. Upgrade the SD to R11. Stick it in the new chassis. Make a call that will lock the chassis to R11 for the future. The ADI essential license should still work. I have systems with mixed ADI and PLDS licenses. If for some reason the ADIs don't work you should be able to back it down to what ever version you want without the upgrade license.

Dermis and feline can be divorced by manifold methods.*

budbyrd yes I actually have a new chassis. I'll try that.

I remember that I read an article about someone who was selling Avaya licenses without permission.

I hope what's going on now with Avaya won't be another Nortel event.

Thanks!
