attempted to upgrade customer with IPO 500v2 R8.0.18 virtual essentials edition to 8.1.52. Upgrade showed successful. Then system started to reboot about every 5 mins or so. Formatted and recreated SD card. Tried again. Same thing. Tried a new download of 8.1.52. Uninstalled and reinstalled manager with new download. Tried upgrading again. Same issue. System stays up 5 or 10 minutes then reboots continuously. Even tried the same thing with 8.1.43 with the same results. Finally, rolled them back to 8.0.18 with no issues. Noted error in system status regarding unable to read primary SD card.

I'm missing something here. Customer is fine for now but there are some fixes in 8.1 for One-x portal that I would like to implement.

Has anyone else experienced this? Only advice I've gotten is to format and recreate but, like I said, I have tried that several times with same result.

Put the card in a card reader and have a look at all folder.
I bet that teh backup folder is corrupt.
It will have folders and files with strange characters in the name.

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks, TLPETER. And I know you helped me last week too. What can be done to fix this corrupt file if that is indeed the case? Obviously, each time I've downloaded the program, I've had the same issue. Thanks.

I believe you'll be able to format the SD card from the Manager menu. File > Advanced > Format SD Card...

You cannot do anything about that.
It just happens sometimes.

Thanks for the reply. I assume then that the only place I can see this folder is in a card reader? If the backup file is corrupt, I assume the SD card is bad (corrupts at 8.1) and the only thing I can do at that point is replace the SD card and transfer all the licenses over.

I corresponded with an SME engineer at Avaya who used to work for a BP I helped a few times. He suggested after I upgrade, default the box back to factorhy settings (blinking orange). Then reloading the config piece by piece (import/export) until we find the corrupt piece.

gddoec, that is not all not needed.
The IPO does make a backup every night from the primary folder to the backup folder.
Somehow this goes wrong after an upgrade or it just happens.
The folders and files go corrupter but only in the backup folder so there is actually nothing wrong at all.
But in your case it reboots and it could be possible that it is not only the backup folder.
If you opened the config before you did the upgrade then you have a backup (.bak file) on the PC that opened the config.
Get the SD card and put it in a card reader and format it with manager and recreate it.
Then put back the config.

I'm having the same problem with the upgraded. Rolled it back to 8.0.x and it has not rebooted at all.
We are on a V1 chassis so no SD card. Not sure what to do now.

The export import thingy sounds like a good idea, try it, it may be a good shot.

A simple mind delivers great solutions
