Is anyone aware of how to setup the immediate divert softkey on a 7970 so that it will divert to a location other than voicemail.

Thanks

Go to template and softkey. I would create anothe template including this key. Copy one of the softkey template and add the key and rename it. Add it to your phone by changing the softkey template option under your phone profile.

Stay cool; it’s not over yet!

You have not answered whether you can do an immediate divert to another number rather than voice mail.

Can this be done.

Unfortunatley not.. this is from cisco documentation

Immediate Divert

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Immediate Divert feature allows you to immediately divert a call to a voice-messaging system. When the call gets diverted, the line becomes available to make or receive new calls

What are you trying to achieve?

What are you trying to achieve JDUST. There may be another way

When a call is ringing on the handset we would like the option to divert the call to another number either externally (mobile) or internally (another extension).

Is it possible in any other way?

So do you want the user to press the button when there phone starts ringing or for it to autmatically do this?

When the phone starts ringing we need a button on the phone to divert the call, apologies if I did'nt make myself clear.

The IPMA Manager and assistant option may be of some use. This gives you the immediate divert option to another Directory Number. To get the instructions on how to do it use the contents and index help page and type IPMA. This will give you a full list of instructions

Why can't you configure standard forwarding to take care of this?

Because the user wansts the option to be able to chase if they take the call or not.

This does sound like a job for IPMA. I'm not overly familiar with it but I think it allows you to do what you require.
