Is there a special wall bracket for a 7906 phone to mount it on the wall. The phone does not mount properly on a standard SS wall bracket. The pins on the bracket do not line up with the slots on the phone. I found some huge Cisco bracket that has 4 plastic anchors that you put in the wall which I really do not want to use. If you take the phone down we'll have to get maintenance to repair the wall! Any suggestions?

Cisco has made their phones so they do not fit regular wall mount faceplates. I have run into some that fit but unfortunately I cannot remember the manufacturer. maybe someone else does.

I solved the problem, at least for the 7906! I mounted the top notch of the phone to the top pin of the wall bracket. I removed the plate mounting screw from the bottom hole and installed a longer bigger head screw in the mounting hole leaving it out about a quater of an inch. I mounted the bottom hole on the phone to that screw head and it was just like a regular wall mount.

Folks:

I ran into this issue and it was costly when you have to install 50 phones in a manufacturing environment.

Why in the world Cisco did that???

The builder provided the standard analog wall-mounted phone mount. They even punched down all (8) wires to the wall jack. We tried to install the Cisco 7911 phones. Then came to realize that the wall plate that they installed not compatible with the Cisco phones as well as the there is no room at the bottom of the phone to plug in LAN cable. We bought the mounting hardware for the 7911 but the mounting hardware is not compatible with the old analog phone mountnig plate.

Folks: Be aware of IP Phone install. I was an old PBX admin and there were a lot of standards with the old telecom industry. I think there is no standard with the new VoIP industry.
