7420 Firmware

I try to load a new firmware in a 7420 but I got this error message:

### 017: Waiting Rx byte timeout ###

Any idea of my problem

Sorry, I can't help, this is a Nortel BCM forum, not Panasonic, so I don't think your going to get a lot of hits here unless a member has experience on both.

I have upgraded several of these, and the power must be off. Also you have to hold the hook switch down while starting the upgrade....see if this helps

I've been following step by step the procedure given by Nortel for the upgrade, including turning the 7420 off. I can read the volume values in the set, but when it comes to upgrading, it reports the mentionned error.

Further down the procedure given by Nortel, it is mentionned to turn on the phone, so should it stay off or be turned on?

Do you get any kind of progress indication when doing this update?
