Noob ? here. (sorry) tried to search, but can't find an answer.

I need a 7201 set to be able to go straight to dialtone (either a co, or line pool) when the handset is lifted. In other words, no need to press 9 for a line.

I've poked around in the programming, and changed a few things, but cant' seem to find what handles this ?

Oh btw it's an old 8x24 DR5 IIRC.

thanks!

7201???

Look for hotline under set programming, choose external, then enter 9.

LOL!!

I mean't 7100... brain fart :)

thanx. will try that.

cheers!

Okay, I've tried everything I can think of but I can't get an outside line on a 7100 unless I hit "9"

I've tried the following:

lines in LP A
Prime line LP A

Hotline External > 9
or
Hotline External <f78>9

What I get there is it will grab a CO, and Dial 9 !

Without the Hotline (just prime line set) it says Select line first.

I've also tried setting prime line to 001 and NO prime line.

I'm sure it's a simple thing I'm missing, but I can't get it to go ..

any suggestions ?
thanks

lets try from scratch...

Assign 9 as access code to Pool A
Allow set access to Pool A
Prime Line the set to Pool A
Make sure it has an Intercom assigned.

If still does not work when doing all the above hat happens when you program F649 to the one and only button and try to use it?

you had it right, set up the hot line to feature 78 (clock symbol will show)
this will put in a pause (don't need the 9 if the prime line is set to pool

if prime line is set to intercom you will need the 9

to err is human
to really f things up requires a computer

Hmm..

that worked ! ! ....

although I thought I tried it b4...

*shrug* F'n Nortel magic :)

T H A N K S ! ! ! !

That's what puzzles me... ? ??

Seems like just setting PL to pool A OR even direct to a line should work ... ? ??

Oh well... why ask why :)

thanks again.

No intercom button on a 7100. Prime line will work on a 7208 or above, but Nortel makes it complicated for the 7100.

I think that if you don't have anything programmed in the hotline that it is ignored but putting a pause in forces it to go to hotline.
