Hi,

I've been told that we will be setting up a new office for at least 70 users. I'm wondering what would be a good choice of switch. I like the simplicity of 3com self managed switches me but I've always wanted some cisco experience and this is a perfect oppurtunity...any suggestions appreciated

Entirely up to you.

If you want to learn Cisco and feel that this would be beneficial then do it.

Reamin positive. The affect on those around you will amaze.

what would be a good choice of cisco switch given the size of the network, I was looking at 2950

Hello...
The Cisco WS-C2950T-24 would be a great choice. 24-port 10/100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet managed rackmountable switch with 2 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and data security protection. With the latest IOS and the new Cisco Network Assistant software it makes managing your switches easy. These are great switches. Also if you need a router for the new network you may consider the Cisco 2800 series.
