I'm studying 70-284 for my MCSA + Messaging. Eventually I'll want to do 70-285 for my MCSE + Messaging. Has anyone taken both, and do you recommend doing 285 right after 284 since it's close to the same material?

Thanks,
Dan

Yes you should give 70-285 after you pass 70-284, The major difference is 70-284 is technology based, and most of the questions are based on concepts and answers can be easily defined as correct and incorrect. but 70-285 is design based. Most of the time all the answer are approprate and can only be answered based on information given in case study. For example, if question ask how many exchange server you should install. You cannot answer unless you go through the information givne in case study and requirements. Also many times there are multiple requirments given in case study and you need to identify which one most required on current situation.

So in a sense this exam is difficult than 70-284 because you need to know the concepts and you need to clearly identify the requiremnts given in case study to come up with the answer
