Hi,

I aim to get the MCSA 2003 messaging certification, therefore I passed the following exam: 290, 291, and 284 (and 431 but this doesn't matter for MCSA). In principle either the 70-270 or 70-210 is missing to earn MCSA.

Well my problem is that I earned the following certification in 2000: 70-210 and 70-215. I have the paper certificate at home.

Now in principle I should be a MCSA 2003 because I passed all the tests (even more becuase I got also 431), but my transcript does not include 70-210 and therefore I am a four times MCP, a MCTS but not MCSA 2003.

Some of you have experience with that?
There is no mention of it in my MCP page.

Thank you
Robert

You'll want to contact your local RSC ( They can help you. Did you get the other certs under a different MCP ID?

Hi Denny,

Yes, I used two different MCP ID to .

Since there was a five years gap among certification I didn’t pay enough attention to that.
I made a mistake because now I couldn’t get my MCSA certification, unless they transfer my 70-210 to the new MCP ID. It is a lesson learnt.

I am going to contact RSC and thanks for the tips (one star for you)

Best Regards,
Robert

They should be able to move the certs from one to another. You'll probably have to resetup your MCP site ID (depending on which MCP number they have you keep).

Well it’s good to know that you should take the 290 exam under the same MCP ID. I assumed this was the case anyway. I got my 70-210 certification in 2004 (It was a state funded thing and was free, hence why it’s an older cert) and I'm just about to take 70-290 on the 30th of August.

I've noticed many other IT professionals are saying that 70-290 was harder than they expected. I'm just wondering if the real test bares any resemblance to practice test suits that I have.

ie: Transcender, MeasureUp and also Microsoft's Readiness review(also ran by MeasureUp)

From what I remember it's fairly close to the MS Readiness review. Keep in mind that about a year ago Microsoft started changing there tests to a new format so you may need an upgrade readiness review.
