7.6 upgrade and Aura 6 phone model question

We are about to upgrade our cs1000 to 7.6. Also at that time we are going to implement Aura R6. With IP Office in the future for remote locations. Mostly small clinics and doctor offices. I don't want to have a bunch of different Avaya phone models to keep as spares (maybe 2 models). Right now i have a lot of 2006, 2008, 2616, and 3904's for my CS1000. We will be putting some new IP phones here (main site) but mostly at the offsite locations. I'm sure a lot of old Nortel guys have gone this route. What is a reasonably priced, quality IP Avaya phone that will fill both these needs? The 9608G looks pretty good, but is the 9611G "better"? Also someone said the 1140's will work, but will i lose any functionality on Aura? Also the 1140's kinda high.
 
I have done a few upgrades to 7.6. Not sure what the Aura platform does for you, I have never implemented that other than Aura Messaging with System and Session Manager. My customers are using 3904 digital sets and 1140 IP sets. In my opinion those 2 phones are the best in the business. I have also done a few IP office installs with their digital and IP phones, forget the exact model and they seem to work fine too.
 
I believe the 1100/1200 series phones would need to be SIP to be used with the IP Office Branch solution (firmware specific to the release of the IP Office). The 9600 sets would not be compatible with the CS1K. You could standardize on the 1100/1200 and just change firmware from H323 to SIP (or vice versa) as needed.
 
I am going to agree with KCFLHRC, I have an Avaya 9600 set right next to an 1140E, and I prefer the robust features and sturdiness of the 1140E, and the ring tones are familiar Nortel ahhhhhhh sounding tones. What I love about the 1100 series IP sets is the fact that you can change so many different functions via the Settings button, everything from the Nortel key click to the ring tones. I also find dialing repeadtely on the 9600s recessed dial pad is very laborious and not every number always dials on the dial pad, especially if you dial fast. On the 1140E, the keys are raised and you are able to dial much quicker and I very rarely miss a digit when dialing fast. Plus the 1140E is a "cool" beautiful looking set.....I believe it won some industrial design awards at one time.

Be advised that the 1140e's have/had a problem with the power board overheating and the phone failing. We have had a high failure rate with them.
Avaya PCN (PCN Number 1745H) describes the issue and corrective action, good until end of 2014.
