OK - aside from the Hot Topics that correct various problems, here's some other 7.6.300 'functional disenhancements' to watch for:

The drill down to view order details for open customer orders in multi-level item view is broken. Macola haven't posted this as a 'Hot Topic' yet, so you'll need to get the fix from Exact support or your reseller.

I couldn't find this info. anywhere in the upgrade instructions but you MUST initialze the new tables on the third tab of the initialize distribution/order entry screen. When you do, it will not only initialze the tables, but also create the tables that makes the new booking reports possible. It appears that the initialize function runs through open and invoiced orders and creates a new table that summarizes this info. This can take a CONSIDERABLE amount of time depending on how many invoiced orders you have in history (4 hours on one site). If you don't do this step, you'll get errors when printing invoices.

I'll add more as I find more...

Don - interesting - we have a client that is also having 7.6.300 problems with the MCDISFIL - in their case though, any job that is cancelled, creates distributions with a blank account number. When this occurs, the transactions cannot be posted.

Peter,

Do you have a new .dll file or a patch for the PO costs not being available in PO view?

Don,

Wow - that was a long time ago... Here's the details from the call;

PO Line Item View does not display Unit Cost if the OE Display Item Cost field is set to Reports or None. If the OE Setup Display Item Cost field is set to Both or Screens, the Unit Cost field will appear on the PO Line Item View screen.

There was no patch issued;

POINQLIN has been modified, tested and moved to 76300A Production to correct the following problem:

P/O Line Item View - not displaying Unit Cost when O/E Setup Display Item Cost Field set to Reports or None.

Peter,

Just curious if you have heard does Exact plan on making these new files available to the .ddfs? I am working on Credit Card processing today and I sure would like to see what is in these new files.

Don - who knows - I logged an incident when I first discovered this in 7.6.300 and was told it would be fixed in 7.6.300a. Installed 7.6.300a the other day on a Pervasive client and the new OE files were NOT in the DDF's. The 'functional disenhancement' number is 09.739.232.

I have a client (just updated to 7.6.300a) that has just noticed that the AP aging and AP open item report appear to not be working, and I saw the comment on the AP aging.
Any info on this ?

A different client was getting entries in their MCDISFIL with no account number, I wrote a routine to update the account number from null to their wip account. They are on 7.6.300.

As it relates to the MCDISFIL, there are a number of bugs reported in version 76300. This appears to be the only distribution file affected, butif you are running SFC/MCA this is pretty major. Look for details on the reseller portal, I am not sure if this info is available on the customer portal or not.

Can you provide any more info on the aging reports? This was news to me.

Aging reports were definitely broken in 7.6.300 - here's Exact's description: 'It was inadvertently changed to make the cutoff date field read the invoice date and not the dist to gl date as it should'.

This will be fixed in 7.6.300b, and is NOT fixed in 7.6.300a. Exact have a patch available, it replaces the ap05p1 DLL.

Don's right - the whole MCDISFIL thing was a mess in 7.6.300. Exact made numerous patches available to improve posting performance, and correct the 'no account number' problems.

Are we ready to start a new post on things to watch for in 7.6.300a? Packing slips print for ALL items on an order, not just those selected....

Sounds like its time for a new thread.

Thanks to all for the info. I have called Exact and they advised that there are no reported bugs in the AP aging for 7.6.300a. ????? I find this site is a most to watch.

THANKS!!

300 was broken for AP & you can get the fix sent to you. It is supposedly fixed in 300a.

Don: I can send you the peak ddfs for the new oe files. You'll have to flip/flop between peak ddfs & vanilla macola if you need payroll tables. One of these days I will break down & edit the ddfs myself if macola never gets around to it.

I just ran into this one last week. I am not sure this would qualify as a "bug" as Exact defines it, but it definitely caused some problems. When you open up the mass price change screen under OE, Processes, the # of decimals for rounding defaults to 2. This is exactly what my client wanted to do. However when this field gains focus, the value changes to zero. So if you tab through it, as my customer did, the price change rounds to the nearest dollar.

To fix this we had to restore the IMINVLOC_SQL table from backup and run this again, being very careful to actually key a 2 into a field that defaults to a 2.

Again, not a huge deal but be careful.
