Folks, I made the upgrade just fine and now I need to add station and trunk modules. I know I have to put all of the station mods on the existing 6 port fiber and the trunk mods on the new 6 port card. Questions please:
1: how do I rearrange them on each card please?
2: how will the trunk cards number (i.e. 081, 082, etc.) and I assume I start from the top of the fiber card and work down as in the original confing?

Actually the trunk mods have to be on the first 6-port card in slot 2. Trunk mods start at the top (port 8) and work down. Station mods start from the bottom (port 3) and work up, then go to the second 6-port card in slot 1, start at the bottom (port 9) and work up.

Ok Brian, so I have made the changes; how do the trunks number in slot 1 please?

001, 002, 003, etc?

or 091, 092.....

According to the installer manual, lines are numbered as follows in a mega system:

Port 8 - 061 to 084
Port 7 - 085 to 108
Port 6 - 109 to 120
Port 5 - 121 to 132
Port 4 - 133 to 144
Port 3 - 145 to 156

Lines on trunk cards in the MICS are numbered 001 to 060

That's what I have as well and I have dt on the first pair (1) of the mod that I added in pos 7 slot one....which should be 085...go figure...the switch doesn't see it...

Did you check in Hardware to make sure that port 7 is set to be a trunk module?

shows mod 7 as std and I can't change it.....

You have to disable the module in Maintenance, then change it in Hardware, then go back to Maintenance and enable the module. Release from programming and give the system a few minutes to reconfigure.

Hey thanks Brian!!!!!Interesting tho I just turned the system down and brought it back up and I was able to change port 7 to a trunk module. You are a real asset to this forum! I know everyone appreciates all of the time you spend helping others out.
