hello,
I'm planning to buy a new 6h1 machine, and I have an old symmetrix machine.
1. I guess 4.3.3 can be installed on the 6h1 - is that true?
2. I would like to know if they talk one with the other.
3. Can they connected by SCSI ? do they have compatible connectors?

Thanx,
t.g

1. Yes, 433 can be installed on a 6H1, but it must be at least at maintenance level 10.
2. They should be able to communicate with each other
3. Don’t know. Sorry

you should be able to connect a symmetrix via SCSI no matter the age, but please ask EMC. we have some frames that have both fibre and SCSI ports. i believe you will need a differential SCSI if that is your choice. if you are buying a new machine, personally i would start off using fibre. unless it is really old you should be able to upgrade the ports on the EMC frame, but again please ask EMC.
