6509 E catalyst switch going into a Rommon mode after power down

Good day

please note that i shutdown my cisco 6509E catalyst switch, and it came back in to a rommom> mode. error "*** System received a Software forced crash ***
signal= 0x17, code= 0x24, context= 0x423586b4
PC = 0x402d248c, Cause = 0x1020, Status Reg = 0x34008002". i tried

You must reset or power cycle for new config to take effect

But still no luck please help.
