Hey! I've got someone who has plugged 6424's into their system and they work (for now). I know these aren't supported on a V2 DS30. Does anyone know what happens when you leave these plugged in? (eg. they corrupt the module, they stop working after x number of days... etc)

I have them running just fine on both DS30V1, DS30V2 and IP500 DS base cards up to release 8.1 - no issues.

PS - 6424D+ remains one of my favorite phones in all of Avaya-land.

Thanks! I really appreciate it. (This goes for the other answer you gave as well :) )

Not supported often just means don't call if you find a bug. It doesn't mean that Avaya have actively spent any time going into the code to actually stop the unsupported devices from working if attached.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Indeed the 6424, will work on ALL digital ports, there just no longer officially supported by Avaya.
I have not tried 64xx on R9, but I can tell You they do work on R8.1, and lower without any issues.

There is an issue with the DS30 though. Make sure you have the correct power supply for it: POWER SOLVE not FSP Group. When I filled my DS30 to max, it would get stuck in a boot loop until you unplug some phones. Apparently Avaya certified cheap knock off's and didn't test it good.

Anyone have One-X running with these phones? Issues?

Why would there? One-X is connecting to a user, not to a extension...
