Normally I have 6424D+ phones recently I've been mailed the "M" version. They have the separate area for headset to plug in. I'm using Plantronics M-12 Amplifiers in the headset location and now the Headset button on the agent's phone only works when the handset is lifted. Is there any fix or work around for this?

Thanks - my agents are miserable!

If you have the headset plugged into the handset port, the handset needs to be removed when using the headset. If you have the headset plugged into the actual headset port and you are using a programmed headset button, you should be able to leave the handset on the cradle.

I have the headset amplifier plugged into the headset port and the headset button only works when you lift the receiver.

I have the headset working on my 6408D+ phone. I have created the 'headset' key on the phone & I don't have to pick up the handset to have the headset work. When you press the headset key, the lamp will turn on & you'll be able to use the headset similar to your handset.
The headset works absolutely fine. The only difference is the on-hook dialing doesn't work. you'll have to press the CA key to dial a number.

Use an Avaya HIC-1 headset cord instead of the Plantronics M-12 Amplifiers.
