Can someone tell me what type of card is compatible with the 6408D phone? I'm trying to change out an 8410D which was on a TN754B to a 6408D. I've tried it on both TN2181 and TN2224CP ports and it will not work. Any suggestions?? Thanks.
84xx series phones can use either four-wire or two-wire digital ports. 64xx series phones can use only a two wire digital port, so the TN2181 and TN2224 would work. You probably have a wiring problem since four-wire ports use the orange and green pairs, while two-wire ports use the blue pair
It is true that the 6408D series uses the blue pair. You cannot use 6408D on a TN754B at all. You would want to go with the TN2224 since it is a 24 port card rather than a TN2181 which is only 16ports.
I am sure many won't agree with me on this, but sometimes a circuit pack that has been used for 4 wire service will no longer provide 2 wire service. I don't know if a reset of the pack will correct this.
Da-vi'do

Thanks so much for your responses. I'm wondering if it does need a reset - as I said, I've tried it and it didn't work. By reset do you mean to down tbe card and then bring it back up? Thanks.
busyout station ( xxxx) and after it relese station (xxxx) Sometimes when you change digital phone set, you can not dial, and you listen only a terrible dial tone. After busyout/relese itt will work!
U can try busying the station, or if nothing else works, busy, reset and release the card. U might not have the permissions to reset the card, and in that case u can always back the card of the back plain and then wait for awhile, then put it back in. U should't do this if u are not technically trained on the definity hardware.
ke4ufp - Make sure you have the blue pair cross-connected at the MDF and any IDFs between your switch room and the phone in question. You may even need to take the jack apart and check the termination. If you have a spare jack, punch a piece of cross-connect on the blue pair between it and the switch frame and plug the phone in. That way you can test the phone and the port at the same time. No board reset is necesary.

Opps, I must have a little 'drain bamdage' from the 60s. It is the phones that sometimes retain whether they were used on a 2 wire or 4 wire circuit pack, not the circuit pack. There is in fact no circuit pack that provides both 2 wire and 4 wire service.
