Wondering what would cause a 6408+ set to go off hook by its self and or displaying garbage on the LCD. If it goes off hook I can just pick up the hand set and put it back down and things are fine, the same as with it displays garbage. Are these bas phones or bad wiring? Also I have had a phone take a over the phone page and hold the page ext. I have to go off hook and back on hook to release the page. Any one have any ideas about this?

Is it just that one phone?? If so hit it with a hammer and send it back and say it doesn't work any more. Just kidding about the hammer, but try a new phone and see if the issue follows the phone set. Wisdom is Knowledge

Trust me I would like to user the hammer. We have 30 sets in a speaker page system and when one phone takes the page the operator can't page anymore, so I have to go from phone to phone to find the problems. I have found two phones that go off hook and one that just displays garbage...oh well...

My first question would be is; Do the stations have auto-answer translated on them (int-aut-an)? I have found this translated and turned on for many phones when I first came to this company and had a similar problem as yours.

If this just started I would look at any changes that were made just before this started happening. It could be something like a change to COS COR. LIST HISTORY. It might be something not ever linked to your paging setup. Sorry I can't pin it down for you. Wisdom is Knowledge

No it has been going on for some time....I haven't made any changes in a long time...I think its just the phones...

Are you certain that the phones on the station page are set up for the correct handsets. i.e. The phone is a 6408D+ and not just a 6408+. Sometimes it can make a difference.

They are set-up as 6408D+ I bet its just the phones. I need to swap them out and see if we continue to have problems.
