I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to use 2 handsets without a cord splitter on the handset. I thought using the headset jack might work? We want to be able to train new employees and the splitter we have just makes both handsets not work.

plantronics makes a y cable adapter for such purposes, also a phone set up for service observing would work as well for training purposes

I have a y cable on the handset port now, but it seems to be in need of replacement. I was hoping instead of replacement I could just plug in a second handset in the headset jack?

no you can not do that, google the y cable and go from there
