I started studying for the routing exam and have a question about the extent of is-is. I have a copy of transcender prior to isis being included. I've also purchased the latest Boson tests that includes is-is. My questions are how in depth is is-is on the test and what are some good study references for the protocols?

I think at most, a few questions on is-is. EIGRP coverage is much heavier. The cisco website has many technical papers on is-is configuration that are very good.

I just passed this test on Thurs 3/20 and as far as the IS-IS goes there are probably around 10 questions on IS-IS and they aren't bad, there are questions about what commands show what ie.... show clns route, show isis route as well as general questions. The information I studied was from Cisco's site a little while back, there is a place on the site that has an extended chapter to the cisco press book it is a chapter on IS-IS and is supposed to be an extra chapter to the routing book and it's great. What books did you use? I have the cicso press BSCI self study by Katherine paquet& Diane Teare (c)2003 and the Sybex from Todd Lamell and the other two authors... their latest.(c)6/1/2002

What did you use for simulator software or did you use actual hardware? I am planning on using routersim, is that good or bad it your opinion?

I plan on the Boson tests. Maybe self test. Any opinion?

If You can,what did you find most challenging for you?
