I had a pe pwr supply go out on one of my shelves. I replaced the power supply with a brand new one. Now the digital phones on that shelf (4 1), come up and work fine. The analog phones when I do a stat all show up as busy. When I check the voltage at the punch down blocks, none of the analog ports have voltage.

I'm not at work today and I'm can't remember the release of my 61c. I know it is 32 something.

Has anyone seen something like this? Thanks for any help.

Couple of things. Does the vintage of the power supply match the replacement requirements for the shelf? Have you tried powering down the shelf and re-powering? Have you checked all of the power harnesses on the backside of the backplane? Have you removed all other shelf cards, then one by one, installing and checking voltages on the analog cards? And like John likes to do, "did you get naked and dance around it"? I would...

DocVic- The pwr supply was the same model. When I say it was new, I just mean it has never been used. I powered down the shelf to replace the p/s. I have not checked the power harness. I did remove the cards and checked the voltage, but I didn't remove the digital cards because they seemed to be working. I will try that tomorrow.

john- I guess I could have a bad p/s out of the box. I didn't think about that. Now that you mention it, I think I only disabled the loop when I changed the p/s. I don't think I powered down the loop. I'll try that.

Doc I correct myself I didn't pwr down the loop, I just disabled it. Dang. I have some work to do tomorrow. Luckily I only had 24 analog phones on that shelf and I already moved them to different shelves.

Thank you much for the help.

Whoa, John is exactly right. If you changed that PS without powering down, you may have created more problems. Be careful.

As soon as he said that, the bell went off in my head. I'm pretty sure that was the problem. I may be posting tomorrow if I screwed up more stuff than I meant to.

Dang I haven't had problems with this particular switch in about 2 years. First big problem I have in awhile and I act like newb.I'm not the greatest tech, but I should know better. Thanks for the help.

I forgot to post yesterday that I got the problem fixed.

It seems when the pwr supply went out, it took out my 3 analog cards. I replaced them and everything works fine again. Funny how it didn't mess with the digital cards, since the pwr supply has a big burn hole in it.

Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it.
