61c losing connection with media card

when processors are switched the connection to the media card is momentarly lost. I have a theory this is an arp table issue in the data switch. I have seen it on cisco and nortel data switches but never had an issue with the old hubs we used to use. Now nortel no longer supports hubs. Has any one else seen this. Do you know what to do about it. I thought about using the span command between the 2 ports the 61c processors are pluged into. basically making a mini hub just for them. any thoughts?

What symptoms are you seeing that makes you think you are loosing connection to the media card?

The switch spits out an error with the ip address of the media card elan saying something like connection to host lost or something. Its the same one you get if you reset the media card but within 10 seconds its back up. I will get the exact messages and post them.
