I have a 616 that has the default 30 sec prompt for on hold I put sys in prog mode plug in sta 21 and enter codes which I believe are 11, and 12 for the sta and sys duration chg but it wont take the prog it just dials the station 11 or 12? Any suggestions?

If it is dialing ext 11,12 then 21 is not the programing phone, it is 11, should have prog No... on screen

what is prompt, ringing to let you know the call is on hold longer than 30 sec?

I didnt even think of that, I was going by the manual instructions I will check sta 11 tomorrow and report back, Thank You

Well OBT,
I got further this time 11 is the prog sta ......but I picked up handset per manual dialed 11 then 4 # but did not get conf tone? Sys was in prog mode moved switch back to set tested hold on incoming call aft default time of 30 secs got loud audible reminder was trying to reset to 2mins but no go any ideas?

I don't know where you got that info from ?
pgm 28= hold recall timer
pgm 36= transfer recall timer

it came from an easaphone 616 manual

what model phones are on this system ? you may have a kx-616 - nothing.

I believe they are 7020 sets w/the prog sta 11 a display set I put system in prog mode go to 11 dial 28 I get a :30 flashing on the display I press 4 # nothing changes and Im not getting a conf tone I'm beginning to feel a little stupid on this one I'm going to rip it out and slap in a CICS, any suggestions?

thats where I got the manual that says 21 is the prog ext and to use prog 11, and 12 for hold delay

The first thing you need to know is there are THREE sets of manuals for a 61610. Look at the silver tag and see whether there's a number in a circle. It will either be none, a 2 or a 3.
There was a none manual, a 2 addendum and a 3 addendum. Then go back to the wedophones site and get ALL the 61610 manuals. You can work your way through the differences. IIRC input command 43. If you have it, you need a circle 3 manual. If you don't, you're going to have to figure out which manual applies. The fun part is the site ALSO has the EU 61610 which had different features from the US versions :)
