Hello,

I have a friends computer that will not boot. It has 6 long beeps at post. I researched and it said something about a keyboard controller. Is anyone familiar with this and how to fix it? Thanks

Nick

It depends on which bios version you have on beep codes. So be sure you kept that in mind when researching it. As for keyboard, what type of one are you using? ps2/serial, usb, older type?

I figured it out, I ended up reseating the memory and that did the trick. Very odd though becuase I couldn't find a 6 beep error that was related to memory modules. Thanks

Nick

Actually it does... AMI BIOS Beep Code for MEM problem is 3 SHORT and 3 LONG beeps = thus 6 Beeps in total...

always listen to the lenghts and what always mention what type of BIOS is used, ie. Award or AMI...
