6.61 and Exchange 2K

I've recently upgraded my Exchange Box to 2K and was told 6.61 should be able to back it up. I can't seem to get it to work though. It simply doesn't accept my Admin account to back it up.
Do any of you know if this version can back up 2K? If so, is there a good list of steps to take to get an account to have the rights to back it up?

Sorry, ARcserve 6.61 and W2K/Exchange 2000 are a no go.
Build 897 of 6.61 was able to do a 'flat file' backup of a Windows 2000 system but was NOT System State aware.
