5GT and email notification

I have 2 5GTs with Screen OS 4.0.0r5.3. I have turned on the alarm notification via email under Config-Report Settings-Email and filled in the values with my smtp server and email address but no luck. Anyone have experience with this feature? I have searched Juniper's site but no luck there either. Any help would be most appreciated.

I have used the feature without issue. Does your SMTP server show any connection attempts?

Also, what "type" of alarms were turned on? By default, setting the email option will not provide you with all the alert messages.

The smtp server I am using is not one that I admin nor is it in the Netscreen's trusted network so I can't say if it is recieving any connection attempts. Does the smtp server have to be on the trusted side of the Netscreen or one that I administer for this function to work?

I normally use an internal SMTP server to handle these messages. Your external SMTP server might require authentication?

If the SMTP server requires authentication, is there a way to set up the NetScreen to provide username and password for the authentication?

Have you figured it out? Do you get any type of notification? Like a traffic log. They only way you will get a notification is if the Alarm is anything above warning. A warning will not send a email. Also check out these articles on juniper.net, ns10191, nskb5699, nskb844, ns10191. Sorry for the late reply I have been out of the loop.
