I have 8p8c biscuits. I'm trying to wire the office for data. I have crimped the one end of the cable in 568A fashion. I've also tried 568B as well. Problem is, I cannot figure out how to wire my 4 pair to the biscuit. Can someone in lamens terms just let me know? I.E. Blue/White goes to the Red pin, White/Blue goes to the Green....etc. Thanks!

If the jack is using red/green/white/blue/black/yellow/orange/brown then it is not a data jack. I am guesisng it has screw terminals.

You need a data jack. Most of these actually have a sticker that shows both the A and B color schemes. These will use insultation displacement termination. Some have a built in piece you push down to terminate once the wires are in the right slots. Others use a 110 style punch block temrination that can only be done reliably with the right tool.

Return those jacks and get the right ones.

Good luck.

when you do get enough jacks to terminate both ends of the cable and some factory made patch cords .

dont crimp the cable yourself

thanks guys. thats exaclty what i did. went back and got the right stuff. there's 3 wasted hours of my life. oh well.

Just wanted to repeat what skip pointed out in case you missed it:

Don’t crimp one end of the cable to rj45 mod plugs. Terminate both ends to jacks (or one end to a patch panel,) then use factory made patch cables to connect it all together.
This will save you heartache.
