56k Modem Problem

Here is a strange one

I am having a problem getting a 56k 3Com Courier modem working on my 2600 router. A 33.6 works just fine and even a 56k usr sportster works fine. I have played with modemcaps but nothing. I have checked all dip switches. Now the only thing I haven't tried is using another modem of the same time but I really don't think this is the problem.

Anyone have any ideas.

Do you have your speed fixed to 115200? What's your IOS version? Can you reverse telnet to the modem?

Yes I have a fixed speed of 115200. My IOS is 12.0(7) and yes I can reverse telnet and manually dialout no problems.

What's the output of a debug modem? You might try a 'debug modem trace abnormal <line>' as it'll give you the reason an established call failed. ----------------------------------------

I can't seem to run 'debug modem trace abnormal <line> but here is the output from debug modem.

It just doesn't want to dial out.

modem in a 2509, could you help to know what script
did you use for make it work?

Actually I was never able to get the 56k usr courier v.everything (model 3CP3453)modem working. Any other modem I tried worked without any effort. My cisco rep simply said 'ok then use a different modem'. So until I find a solution to this problem I can only pass the same advise to you.
