Hi Guys,

Been installing these 5624 Wifi Phones with vMCD with SIP trunks.
Got internal calls working fine with the 5624 IP wifi phones but when calling into them externally they ring but external caller e.g.Mobile doesn't hear ringing. When 5624 IP phone answers the call it is just silence.

However, if you do this with Normal IP phone 5330e calls work fine and audio is fine.

The 5624 IP phones cannot call out either get invalid or no channel found. But when I look at the syslog on the Wifi phones when making outbound call it comes back with:
2014-10-02 14:34:05.963,750 - Setting WLAN power mode: long doze
2014-10-02 14:36:19.828,000 - Out of charger - Battery level: 4219 mV
2014-10-02 14:36:49.565,875 - AP: 54:78:1a:aa:a1:c7 - RSSI: -58 - Channel: 6 - QoS: WMM & WMM-PS - DSCP voice: 0x2e signaling: 0x1a
2014-10-02 14:36:49.702,750 - Battery level: 4200 mV
2014-10-02 14:37:33.782,625 - Admin interface active. Will use short doze
2014-10-02 14:39:00.441,125 - Outgoing call
2014-10-02 14:39:00.538,500 - Setting WLAN power mode: active
2014-10-02 14:39:00.603,750 - Call disconnected: unassigned number

Issue dialling externally and receiving calls with these Wifi phones. Wondering if it is something silly I am missing on the config using just the PDM to programme them and the cradle/programmer.

Any help much appreciated

Assuming no MBG as sip proxy for the sip trunks.

Are the Wifi handsets in a different subnet to the 5330?

sounds like there is no route for the RTP ( voice) it will be trying to route directly from the handset to the SIP server (and vice versa)

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

There is suppose to be a MBG acting as SIP Proxy but we had no audio at all that way so looking to get it working just through vMCD first.

The Wifi handsets are in a 10.10.50.0 subnet and the fixed IP devices are in 10.10.70.0 subnet. I will look into subnet on Monday when back on site, sounds like a good place to look!

Thanks!

it's on the DMZ of a Fortinet firewall, but I have tested as Server and gateway and it also works.

Let me know if yours in on the DMZ and I'll send you a document with relevant information regarding your firewall programming (Policies and routes)

cheers,

daniel

We going to be rebuilding the MBG and putting into a DMZ, so any info or docs would be brilliant!

Cheers Daniel. Much appreciated

Have a look at the following document, read it from the begining to the end. Do not take anything for granted.

Pay special attention to the policies. Every device involved should be able to get to the internet (The 3300, the MBG and the phones of course).

Disable all SIP helpers and ALGs on your firewall. DO IT! and let the MBG handle your SIP SDPs.

Forward the ports (In the document) from your public IP address to the MBG local IP.

Make sure you select DMZ in the configuration mode on your MBG.

Give it a try, it will work!

Also, make sure you configure your MCD to get knowledge of the existance of your MBG (This is done in Network Element).

Make sure you create a new SIP device capability that includes the MBG.

depending on the software load on your 3300 there should be a SIP capability already configured for your 5624s. So, let the 3300 know that the phone type is a 5624, do not select generic SIP.

copy the device capability that is assign by default and add the MBG, then assign this new device capability to your user extension

Also, it is very important that you configure your 5624 according to mitel recomendations, have a look on MOL, there should be a docuemntn for the programming of a Ascom i62.

If you have issues let us know,

cheers,

daniel

You'll be glad to know issue was with Sip Trunks not working correctly. Got them working going through vMBG and all calls are being processed fine.

Looks like my config was good for the 5624 Wifi phones.

Thanks anyway Daniel!
