Our 5550IP console has been acting strangly lately. At night when the operator leaves, she puts it on "Night 1" service (icon showing is a moon). Lately when she comes in, the icon has changed to a "sun" indicating day service, but when you call the switchboard, it says "operator absent" indicating it's still in Night 1 service.

We have been bypassing this by manually putting the console into night 1 service, and at opening time, switching it to day service.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? We have not made any changes to the system in the past couple of months, but it's been happenning for the past few days.

Check the Maintenance logs to find out who is putting the system into day service.

Your statement that Operator Absent is Night service is not correct. They are separate functions.

My guess is that some other device has the ability to change day/night service and you need to identify what.

Maybe you have scheduled night service enabled?

Thanks for the response. It's odd, I had a look at the programmed service display (pasted below). We open the switchboard manually from night1 at 8am and close it (back to Night1) at 17h30.

I have never changed anything in the past 2 years, so I can't understand why, all of a sudden, it's happening.

Anyone have any ideas?
