Hie to you all.

Have a 3300 CXII MCD 5.0 that has analog trunks connected onto its embedded ports. This is a new installation.
The 5550ip console & All IP phones have the same COS & COR. I can make an external call successfully from an IP phone but when I try to make an external call from the 5550 I get a dial tone after my last dialed digit for a while (at the same time the screen will be displaying the trunk number & the status: seized )then a message REQUEST DENIED then cuts off.

What could be causing this & what is the possible solution?

Thank you.

Have u downloaded the latest 5550 console software for that release?

I am using console software 4.0.
One thing to note concerning the above is that if I use the FAC for Individual Trunk Access on the 5550 I can make the external call perfectly but the problem comes when I want to make a call the normal way.

Have you assigned an appropriate cos and for to the console?

The console is in the same COS as the rest of the extensions. Not sure what you mean by the RIGHT COS. Please more info.

A console should have its own COS due to functions only available to the console but this is probably not the issue

Cor (Class of restriction) on the other hand is very important, I've asked about both.

Thank you for assisting. The COR for the console is of Full Access, that is it should call out without Independent Account Code. The COR groups on the hand are done in a way that you advised in a different post a long time ago.I also would like you to consider that extensions are working correctly with the same COR & COS. You could onto something if only you can point out how you expect the COS & COR to be.

so back to basics.

At what point during dialing does it fail (specific digit or timing matters)

What does the console display say (error? restricted? Other?)

You've mentioned a FAQ above. I vaguely remember someone else one time was using direct trunk select access instead of ARS but they neglected to say so. Are you using ARS?

I am using ARS.I go out with a zero. Here is a test case when I want to dial an external number 3636456
1. Dial 0 3636456
2. Display shows the number 03636456 ,Trunk Label /Trunk number (Analog Trk 101) & Status as Seized
3. I then hear dial tone
4. Dial tone continues for sometime as if I havent dialled any digits
5. The Status then changes to REQUEST DENIED and cuts off.

This is the best I can describe the case.My experience with consoles make me understand that you never hear dial tone on the console but only the ringing tone or busy tone depending on the outcome of your call.

Sounds like your route is requesting an account code

Are you dialling one?

I have tried an account code that works on other phones bot get the same problem.

Have you read up on how to enter an accOunt code from a console?

It wouldn't surprise me if it was different than a regular phone

Im sorry to say that I havent read about how to put an account code on a console.Maybe if you have you can tell me, but if its truely different from the extensions then I would like to pin the difference to MCD5.0 because this has never occured to me on other software releases.
This is my first time working on MCD5.0.

Okay. Have read how to to place an external call on a console. Here is what it says:-
Dial Account Code Access Code + dial Account Code + press # + continue dialing
On my 3300 the Account Code length is set to 6, my FAC is a 1 and End of dial character # is disabled, so this changes the above statement to as follows:-
Dial Account Code Access Code (1) + dial Account Code (223344) + press 0 + continue dialing (3636456)
