5550 Database error

Apologies if this has been answered in another thread but I couldn't find anything

Controller info: 3300 CX 6.0 PR1, ver 12.0.0.52
5550: ver 4.2.2.27

A new client requested the 5550 be installed on a new PC. I ran the wizard but the database keeps giving an error for syncing and won't populate the BLF list like on the old PC. Also, the toolbar on the top for directories etc doesn't display. The new PC is running Windows 8

The 3300 sees the 3 controllers in the cluster so I am not sure why it won't see the directory.

Has anyone experienced this?

I read the RN. I tried it on Windows 7 Pro after and i still get the database error but the toolbar does come back
