New install of IPO w/406v2, 2 DS30v2, Phone 16. All upgraded to R3 (59). Ramdomly the 5410s "lock up" and have to be umplugged then reconnected to bring them back. Any ideas?

This is constantly scrolling on system monitor. I don't know if there is any connection to my problem.

Have you tried changing the firmware on the 5410's? You should have the new bin files in the Manager folder if you've downloaded the 3.0.59 admin CD.

You'll also need to ensure that the 406V2, the POTS module and the DS30 module are all on the same firmware.

The fact that your system traces a repeating the same message over indicates that you may have a firmware related issue.

All the units were upgraded via the 3.0(59) admin cd downloaded from Avaya. When first connected, the 5410s loaded the bin files.

This might make you cringe, but have you tried writing a fresh config file using the wizard. Before you do that, default the unit through Manager or DTE and see if it does it on an empty config.

Sometimes IP Office plays up when the config gets corrupt, and I have seen this with results like yours quite a few times.

That does make me cringe. The config file is about 87K but if that is the last resort I will do it. I have a ticket open with Avaya now so I'm waiting to hear from them. (Maybe in this lifetime)

If you are getting a "Please Wait" on the phones, this is a problem I have had. It tends to happen we you have a large deployment of 5410 sets. The IPO manager TFTP server can only update the firmware 10 sets at a time, and the AVAYA TFTP server can only do 30 at a time. You can cure this in 2 ways.

1) After rebooting the IPO unplug each DS module and plug them in 60 seconds apart.

2) You can go into your command prompt and enter C:\Program Files\Avaya\IPOffice\Manger>
At this prompt enter “turn_off.bat” and enter
Then do a “call fw_off 192.168.42.1” where 192.168.42.1 is the address of the IPOffice. Once executed you MUST receive a message confirming the Transfer was successful. You need to Use IPOffice Manager and choose Advanced and Reboot and reboot the Control Unit.

Try that and see what happens.

ive been looking for the doc on how to upgrade firmware on the phones? can you point me to the docs?
