We have a user that receives a lot of calls on her 5330 w/ cordless headset. When she is on a call and she receives another call via a multicall button the headset makes 3 quick tones. I found this post: which mentions "Camp-on Tone Security/FAX Machine set to Yes " . I went ahead and copied our default COS and changed that setting to Yes and assigned it to her DN but she still receives the tone. I am wondering if its possible to disable this somehow?

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

we have the same, and would like to fix it also:

in our office, if I have main line sent to a 'ring' multicall on my 5340 with DECT headset
and am on a call, a new call coming in does ring once/briefly in my headset
Campon Tone Security / FAX Machine: No
in the COS applied to phones:

changing to: Yes
still the same
1 burst of ringing for incoming calls

How are the additional keys set to ring? Continuous or just ring?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

with the additional keys (multicall) set to 'ring' we get one ring (in the headset), when a call comes in (when you are already on a call, using the Mitel DECT headset)

Ours are set to "ring" also. I was thinking for our particular case I can probably change it to "no ring" and see if it has an effect. I will test tomorrow and follow-up.

I set to "do not ring" and the user does not get the beep in the headset. For us this will work, so thanks

This has become a problem, and Im wondering if anyone has a better solution? We want phone to ring but not beep in ear.
