Any1 had any dealings with this newly released handset? At the minute it appears you have to press # once you have entered the number your dialling otherwise it takes quite some time before it dials out, can this be changed?
Also it has 2 line keys, can any1 explain exactly how they work?

Cheers

Mitelpassion, thanks for your response, the site has around 85 5302 sets, the system is currently on 8.0UR2, was going to upgrade to 8.0UR3 to eradicate the transfer issue these phones have & yes the site does have vlans.

Cheers

I would hold off if I were u. what tranfer issue do you have?
If you are reffering to getting a transferred call back then 8.0 UR PRI1 will do.

ultimately it's up to you if you wanna take a chance and do the upgrade.

It's comforting (in a strange sort of way) that other users are having the same problems we are with the 5302.

Our latest one is a little more worrying. We have a number of sets that stopped working for no apparent reason and flash the DHCP error LED sequence.

Wireshark shows that the sets are obtaining their first DHCP address, releasing it and are supposed to hop to the voice vlan as instructed via option 125 where they request an address from the 3300. Only problem now is they release the first address and dissapear completley, they just sit there flashing the LED's.

The inter-digit timer can't be changed on the surface but is passed down via TFTP in a text file when the phone registers (system profile / device profile) so in theory it can be changed however make it longer and users will have to terminate with #, make it too short and your set tries to connect the call with a partial number string. Not elegant sets at all although it seems a lot of the issues with the 5302 are due to the limitations of SIP.

A MiNet version of this phone would be ideal, i'll be very interested to see the 5304 in the flesh which is rumored to be MiNet. By the sounds of things this would be a perfect entry level business set.

I could go on all day about issues with these...even if the phone is marketed as basic it should at the very least have the same features as a basic ONS line - it's way short of that with the current firmware.

not sure this was propperly marketed in the first instance.
can you imagine having to set the interdigit timer in each text file for around 200 phones? I believe design are working on this though. not sure what they have planned. They're also working on numerous other issues.

I have it from a good source that there are vlan inherent issues on the 5302. Did you log a call for third line? if not please do. it will help our cause too.

good luck

Another issue with ths set, once the group pick up FAC is used you cannot then transfer the call anywhere, directed group pick up works OK though! Issue is currently with Mitel design....

Cheers Mitelpassion,

"just a note on the 5302's to make this phone seem busy without blanking the auto campon there's a new form in 8.0 UR 3 which you can configure to do just that."

I've just re-read through the entire thread again & realised I had missed your above point, don't suppose you could point this form out to me!!!

i believe the SIP Device Capabilities Assignment form. I didn't try this myself, a collegue did. i did test the end result though. phone never rang on the second call

will ask him tomorrow and will feedback here. I think he changed all those options to No or to Yes.

let me know how you get on

I believe there's a problem with the DHCP helper config tool for option 125. The fourth hex value is 60 - wrongly so. Should be 5D.

00 00 03 04 5D.

This value denotes the lenght of the data field. 60 is too long and could cause problems.
