Greetings all,

I've got a 3300 that i recently upgraded to 4.2 and added an additional 3300 resilient controller. I tested the failover last weekend and that went well and i returned service to the primary controller. This morning I had a trouble call from the customer that the voice mail button on the 5224's isn't working. It will flash when there is a message but when I press the button the display says 'no messages'. I've gone through system options and the class of service for the sets and VM, tried reloading the device and can't seem to find anything. Any ideas out there?
thanks

I figured it out. I had put VM ports 19/20 into a hunt group friday afternoon to see if they would be able to record-a-call and that caused me grief on monday. go figure!!!

VM ports 18-20 are used as MWI ports
you should not program these as anything other than voicemail and make sure that they are in the VM hunt group.

Thanks supernova..i figured it out the hard way. so if i want to set up for record-a-call i need to use two VM ports, which should i use..16-17?

Personally I would start at the top
Use ports 1 and 2

Also the same goes for your Rad recordings. Always start at the top of your hunt group for those applications.

Mitel's recomendation is to use ports from the middle for any applications other than voicemail.

The first ports are used for paging I believe

I am not aware of any recommendations concerning paging and voicemail ports just MWI with RAD's and RAC should be programmed top down.

Ive always used the last ports for vmail
30 ports - use 21-30
20 ports use 12-20

The 1st ports I use for RADs
never have MW issues when i do this , but have definitely had Vm issues when last port isnt in Vmail hunt group

As always, thanks for the input. cheers!!
