It seems to be my day for having fun with Mitel phones! I have a 5220 in SIP mode (not the one with the Line Interface Module in it) that won't boot completely - I can do the basic settings, boot onto a network and get a DHCP address but when the phone loads the SIP firmware, it gets as far as strobing all the LEDs and then hangs with half of them lit - ie: a fraction of a second before it has finished booting.
I guess that the SIP firmware is corrupt so I have tried the following:
Factory reset - no change
Setup TFTP firmware update - but it won't re-load the same version as is already in place (V6).
I have also tried to encourage the phone to downgrade to SIP V4 but it won't have it.
My only thoughts are:
1) You clever lot may know of a way to force a firmware reload
2) I can wait for Mitel to release a new version and try to update the phone
3) I can make the files for the V6 firmware look like a new version by tweaking something?
Is it a bin/spares job?
Thanks
