5212 speakerphone OWT

I have a site on s/w rel. 7.x where all their ss5212's only allow incoming speech, outgoing can not be heard.
ss5330's work just fine both ways.

Anyone heard of this or know why?
Manual states full handsfree operation IS a feature of this handset.

Is the mic muted?
Does it work on the handset?

It works fine with the handset yes and yes, I have checked the mic is not muted.
The user (owner of the 5212) can hear the other end but they can not hear him/her. This would indicate an issue with the mic, but i've checked this.

Do you have a good working 5212 phone from any other system? I would bring it on site and exclude the situation that all your 5212 are defective and have to be replaced.
