I have a customer that's having an issue with garbled/choppy audio that go thru their IP phones on site (non networked system). This has been going on since it's original install of about a year ago. Most of the users have IP phones (models: 5330 & 5320's). Some of the users have PC's connected to the phones, some don't. It doesn't always happen all the time and it intermittently will happen on different phones at different times. The customer has around 238 IP devices and 11 digital sets programmed. One of the digital sets is being used a "pass thru" to their external paging amplifier for their warhouse and external zones. They have 4 page groups. All page, just phones, warehouse and external overheads. The garbled and choppy pages ONLY happen on the IP phone's. One of my suggestions to the customer was to run wireshark or some kind of packet sniffer to see if there might be any loops in the network. The suggestion was recieved with "rolling eyes" and a response of "It's NOT our network" so I'm left with finding another way to rule out their network.
Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.
